`95 S50 oil and amount

hey guys im buying a `95 3.0 S50 engine for a swap into a 318is....what weight oil is recommended particulary for a warm climate? (living in san diego here) also how many quarts is needed? im putting on a M50 E34 525i oil pan and pump due to the different location of the pump but i believe the pan should hold the same amount however much that is. thanks.

use mobil1 0w-40w euro blend synthetic. I use it here in colorado and it works great, it should also be great in san diego too. as for the quantity, you will need almost 7 quarts of oil (it's like 6.8). Hope this helps, Good luck!

just dump in 7.. its good for the oil starvation problem
